Notes:

While Tim Callahan and Luly Gonzalez from Alembic Studio were surveying to create 3D modeling of our land, house and studio site, I surveyed myself camouflaged within an old excavated log cabin site on our land. At one time I imagine a mountain man nestled in a dug out cabin looking north at Roan Mountain where Asa Gray researched the area flora and fauna.

This exercise may seem or even be self absorbed, but not intentionally self-aggrandizing. I look okay but not particularly good from my perspective. My daughter says I look mean. It is intensely important to me to work with what I have and to put myself into a material asset list that includes the land, natural resources and the people we choose to work with building in concert with this environment.

Determining how to address the character of the land including it's natural history and ecology while modifying the land to fit our needs is more subtle than this study suggests. We still have much to learn in a relatively short period of time. I want to use this time as affectively as possible.
