We've been lurking on the list for about 3 years now and have only
posted a few times. I've been meaning to ask a few questions the last
couple of weeks, however, we had some problems with outgoing email and
have just now had the time to figure out what the problem was. I don't
believe we have ever put an introduction up so before I ask my question
here is my introduction....
I'm Sarah Brown with Quality Captives. The other half of Quality
Captives is Melissa Hare. Our very first reptile was a bearded dragon
we bought from a pet store. Shortly after we purchased 'Ozzie' we
discovered the reptile show in Columbus (Ohio) and soon had many other
types of reptiles including many types of geckos and some frilled
dragons (which we successfully bred).
We first saw dart frogs at the Columbus show. We were intrigued by them
but they seemed like way too much work. Little did we know that they
were not only easier than many of the reptiles we had but they were so
much more fun! Eventually we purchased 3 tadpoles and had a great time
watching them morph. We fell in love with the darts and eventually sold
all of our reptiles and solely concentrated on the frogs (after all --
the heat lamps for the reptiles made the house much too warm for the
little ones). We've been keeping (and breeding) darts for about 4 years
now. We have a little bit of everything from Tricolors and Azureus to
Tincs, Auratus, and multiple types of thumbnails. Our collection has
evolved over the years and I'm sure our collection will continue to
evolve with time.
