I'm Michael Shrom. I was born in 1956 In Ephrata, Pa. I was married to my wife Nancy in 1978. I have two adult sons Nevin and Peter. I'm a machinist at a fire truck factory and have a very small business breeding amphibians and propagating pond plants. I consider myself a liberal conservationist. I'm an adult Sunday School teacher at the Ephrata Church Of The Brethren. Some of my hobbies are photography, raising orchids, growing wildflowers, collecting books, collecting antiques, breeding amphibians, and raising pond plants. My business (Frog Pond) is hobby oriented. I breed and sell what I like to help pay for my expensive hobbies. Mostly I like dart frogs and aquatic salamanders and frogs.

I consider myself to be an advanced hobbyist. I have been keeping amphibians since I was a small child and have kept and bred Dart Frogs for over 21 years. I'm an old timer by Frognet standards. I've met hundreds of Frognetters and even though I am young the majority of them are younger than me and have been involved in the hobby for a shorter time. I've been on Frognet for a number of years and at one time had the distinction of having the most posts. I post frequently but not as often as I used to. Currently I keep mostly tinctorious, auratus, and galactonotus. I have several morphs of each. I'm starting to keep some thumbnails again. Most of my tanks are simple breeder tanks but I have several display tanks. I like to keep frogs in colonies when I can. From Frognet we learn their are lots of different approaches to sound husbandry of amphibians. Their is no "right" way but their certainly are wrong ways.
