Hey everyone,
This is my first post on frognet, so I hope I'm following the right
protocol and my post doesn't end up on some beanie baby forum :) I have
been a habitual frognet lurker for what seems like a long while now,
and I just want to say how much I have learned from this community. As
Justin said, the depth of knowledge represented here, makes calling
frognet a community of hobbiest, unfounded. One of my favorite
activities is pulling up the old archives to see how this hobby has
developed and how much has been learned over the many years.
Turning to DendroBoard, I want to thank everyone for their comments. I
have so much to say about the current relationship between d'board and
frognet, and the possibilities for the future. As much as I could blab
on about the benefits, drawbacks, and solutions of each system, format,
content, members, and features, I would much rather hear what everyone
in this community wants. D'board has hit a string with some people,
while frognet has done the same with many others. My goal with d'board
and in general has been the consolidation and easy access of
information. Whether the information is how to make ff cultures, what
Pumilio sound like, or how the Quinquevittatus group sorts out, we all
need a place where people can get this information out of their head
and onto on some medium. Too many froggers reinvent the wheel daily. On
the advanced side of things, where we are pushing the limits of our
knowledge and experience, we need both an unencumbered and easily
accessible method of communicating.
So, lets start talking about what people want and how it can be done.
There are enough techie nerds in this community to make anything
possible. Thanks for all your support. Long live frognet and d'board :)
~Joe
