My name is Jim Annand and I live in the St. Louis, MO
area. I've been lurking/posting on this board for about 2 years. I don't post on
this board much because I feel I have much more to learn than to offer. I've
been keeping fish for most of my life, about 30 years now, and I've recently
(3-4 years) been keeping herps. I have a degree in Horticulture and collect
Japanese Maples and dwarf conifers. For fish I've kept marine fish only and
reef tanks and South Anerican/African cichlids. I currently only have a few
tanks of Africans.
I got into reptiles by chance, mostly. Four years ago my daughter was
wanting a pet and since she was allergic to pet dander that left reptiles.
My wife freaked on the idea of snakes, so after much research, we ended up with
a Bearded Dragon. And then some Firebelly Toads. And then some Red Eye tree
frogs. And then some Cuban tree frogs. And then I accidentally discovered
PDF's and have been wildly addicted since. I've currently got four D. auratus
"Powder Blue" in a 58 gallon viv and three P. teribillis "Mint" in a 29
gallon "tall" viv. I'm currently working on a plywood and glass viv that is 60"w
X 30"d X 36"t. I hope to stock it with some Leucs. The height is mostly for
the plants, my second passion.
Thankyou,
Jim Annand
