I had to laugh at how early some peoples fascination with frogs started. Im very guilty of that too. As a kid, I vividly remember sitting for hours in my fathers backyard in San Diego, watching and capturing the little toads that once lived there..... I live in Arizona currently, though have moved around more than anyone else I know. Ive worked in high tech for a few years as an analyst. Before that, I was in biotech, growning skin in a laboratory, devising in vitro toxicology tests, and doing various other lab things. In a previous life, I owned a pool service. Im a newcomer to dart frogs, though Ive kept local (west coast) species of herps off and on for years (usually rescues that someones kid brought home). Ive also kept other, non-native species of herps, but thats off the subject. Never had snakes for too long, I kept getting bit....Ive also gone thru the entire "indoor greenhouse" phase where I grew tropical plants under lights, with the full misting, temp control and CO2 injection systems, so the whole thing of vivariums has been on my mind for a while.... Right now, my front room is dominated by enclosures holding galactonotus, azureus, three types of auratus and leucomelas. Theres also the chameleon cage and the phelsuma, but thats another story.... I think Ive found that frogs are my "drug of choice" as far as animal hobbies go. I, like most other frog people Ive met, can spend hours just watching them, and spend a not-insignificant amount of my day thinking about how I could improve their enclosures. For the time being however, Im concentrating on breeding the species that I have, and being able to do that with some consistency. My other hobbies include scuba diving, travelling, crashing my mountain bike and anything that involves the outdoors. I start a PhD at ASU this fall. Looking forward to being back in school, where I feel most at home. Please feel free to contact me if you think I can be of any help. Chad

Well, my turn I guess. My name is Chad Mayer, 34 years old. Currently I live in Sacramento, CA. Ive got just a few frogs, Azureus, a few auratus species, and soon leucs for my big show tank. Like many of you, Im relatively new, only having joined within the last year or so. I was formerly an account manager at a major electronics mfg, now enjoying an early (and hopefully brief) retirement. LOL. Mergers are a pain. Anyway, Ive been lurking for a while, occasionally post a few things I observe, but keep in mind that Im still new, so anything I say should be tempered with that info. I also keep chameleons and phelsuma, both very demanding genus', so my mornings and afternoons are usually kept busy with things pertaining to my animals. Like Tor said, no kids allows me the time to pursue some of my hobbies. Im also an avid scuba diver (sometimes I post as my alter ego, Divegod), and have spent about a year tramping thru the jungles of latin america (probably where I pic
ked up the frog bug). Um, guess thats it!
