The sequence including the ferns at the end of the video is an old dugout site. Probably where a log cabin once stood. I am thinking now about how to deal with this specific space high above the creek. Too far above to see the creek and too enclosed by the forest to see much more than the beauty of the place. Laced in the deer trail terraces are tens of thousands of ferns, jack in the pulpits, showy orchids, wild iris, rattle snake orchids, coral root orchids, morel mushrooms, and lots lots more still to be found.
Maybe we will excavate then replicate the log cabin as an observation site for the gentle beautiful environment we are so lucky to have found.
